Round Review – Round 11

Another round of carnage, with many late outs and injuries leading into the bye rounds. Also, the individual Fantasy score record for 2019 has been broken, again by a GWS player! This will be a shorter review as I was unable to watch most games over the weekend.

The round kicked off with a huge upset, with North Melbourne smashing the Tigers after their coach, Brad Scott, was sacked earlier in the week. What a courageous outing from the Kangaroos.

The nominated Players of the Round were:

Stephen Coniglio (GWS)

Tom Lynch (ADEL)

Jack Darling (WCE)

Travis Boak (PORT)

All four played some great footy, but Coniglio delivered the best individual performance of the year against the Suns. He just edged out Whitfield’s 190 from a few weeks back, finishing with 3 goals, 36 disposals (including 29 kicks), 13 marks, 8 tackles and 192 Fantasy points. Simply superb! Although I am a little disappointed as I traded him out a couple of weeks back. Well done if you had him!

I also ran another Twitter poll last week in regard to the all-around best player (in terms of Fantasy) in May. As you can see in the embedded Tweet above, Grundy was the clear winner as he should be. However, the other three have also been phenomenal!

Now we prepare for the bye rounds… I personally turned them off in my league this season as I hate the additional stress especially since it’s around the same time as mid-year exams. Regardless, I’ll still be doing trades and analysing the inevitable carnage, so head on over to the Team Discussion page if you want to see my current team and discuss your own.
