Round Review – Round 6

Happy to say I got 9/9 in my tips this week! A fairly standard round of footy. Let’s review!

I was active on Twitter over the weekend so I’ll embed some Tweets throughout. The nominated Players of the Round are:

Scott Pendlebury (COLL)

Jaeger O’Meara (HAW)

Gary Ablett (GEEL)

Travis Boak (PORT)

I’ll have to go with Pendlebury for the overall Player of the Round this week, with O’Meara a close second. Pendles was awarded with the ANZAC Medal for his efforts against the Bombers, which included 38 disposals, 7 marks, 6 tackles and 148 Fantasy points, what a game and well deserved BOG! However I have to say if the Bombers ended up winning, I’d have Daniher as my BOG because he was just electric and exciting to watch.

I’d also say all four of the nominated players are likely going to carry their form into next week, but I have to choose one and it’ll be Travis Boak, who has been the most consistent player in Fantasy this year so far. Boak has tonned every week except last week, in which he was tagged by Mark Hutchings. He is absolutely vital to have in your team, get him in!

Round Review – Round 5

The week of blowouts! The lowest winning margin of the round was 22 points, and 6 out of 9 matches were decided by 40+ points. The AFL have nominated the Players of the Round as:

Gary Ablett (GEEL)

Eddie Betts (ADEL)

Harry McKay (CARL)

Ollie Wines (PORT)

In my opinion, the overall Player of the Round is Harry McKay, who was absolutely crucial in Carlton’s stunning first win of the season. McKay put the Blues on his back kicking 4.3, with 20 disposals, 11 marks and 128 Fantasy points to go with it. What a win for the Blues!

Gary Ablett is my pick for the player most likely to carry his form into next round. The rest outside of Wines just aren’t regular high-scorers in Fantasy, and Wines has been reasonably quiet since his return from injury aside from this weekend. Gary has been fairly reliable this season, and we know that he can fork up the ton consistently.

I was inactive on Twitter this week so unfortunately I have no update Tweets to embed. I’ll be sure to make up for it next week!

Round Review – Round 4

The AFL have finally started posting their elected Players of the Round on social media, and so I will now start posting Round Reviews in the format that I had hoped. Apologies for the lack of these in the past couple of rounds! This will also be quite short as I did not have much time to watch the games over the weekend.

Basically, I will list the nominated Players of the Round and choose the player that I believe had the most outstanding performance, as well as the player that I believe will continue their good form into the coming rounds. I will create a ‘Player Card’ for them at some point and you will find these under the ‘Ratings’ page of the website.

The nominated Players of the Round are:

Tom Lynch (RICH)

Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (ESS)

Shannon Hurn (WCE)

Lachie Whitfield (GWS)

My personal player of the round is without a doubt McDonald-Tipungwuti. With an incredible bag of seven goals in addition to ten marks and twenty disposals, Tippa played an almost perfect game.

However, I think Lachie Whitfield is the most likely to carry this form into next round. Despite the Giants’ loss to current premiership favourites Geelong, Whitfield was again a shining positive. He is yet to score under the ton this year (his lowest score being 109 in round 10), and he has come off a 162 last week against Richmond aswell. He will be a necessary addition to your Fantasy team this season.
